Piloting

Piloting – A Gentle Introduction to Teams

Piloting is a steady and relaxed way of introducing Teams of Our Lady to new couples.

An experienced Pilot (guiding) Couple accompanies a new Team over several months, helping couples explore and experience the life of Teams at a comfortable pace.

Overview

  • Piloting is ideally face-to-face.
  • When needed, meetings may be partially or fully online to suit availability.
  • The focus is always on accompaniment, not pressure.

Our Process

1. Initial Contact

  • Couples usually connect through the website, parish, or word of mouth.
  • They are put in touch with an experienced responsible or pilot couple.

2. Formation of a Pilot Team

  • Typically 5–7 couples are grouped together.
  • A Pilot Couple accompanies them as mentors.

3. Piloting Meetings (7–8 months)

  • Monthly meetings follow the same structure as a normal Team.
  • Couples are introduced gradually to:
    • the history and spirit of Teams,
    • the spiritual endeavours,
    • how meetings work,
    • the charism of living marriage fully.

4. Accompaniment by a Priest or Spiritual Counsellor

  • A priest or counsellor ideally accompanies the Team from the beginning.

5. Discernment

  • Couples and leaders discern together whether Teams is the right path.
  • There is no obligation to continue.

6. Official Integration

  • After piloting, couples may make a formal commitment.
  • The Team becomes officially part of Teams of Our Lady.
  • The Pilot Couple steps back and the new Team elects its own responsible couple.

👉 In short: Piloting is a guided, supportive journey that helps couples learn, experience, and discern life in Teams—before becoming part of the worldwide movement.

Structure of a Typical Teams Meeting

1. Welcome & Light Meal (30–60 mins)
  • The host couple welcomes everyone into their home.
  • Couples share a light meal together — fellowship is a key part of the experience.
2. Prayer (10–15 mins)
  • The group prays together (Bible reading, intercessions, and a Psalm.. all supplied in a monthly booklet).
  • Helps introduce new couples to the spiritual rhythm of the Teams.
3. Sharing on the “Endeavours” (30–40 mins)
  • Each couple shares how they tried to live out the endeavours during the month:
    • Daily personal prayer
    • Conjugal prayer (husband & wife together)
    • Family prayer
    • Monthly “Sit-Down” (couple dialogue)
    • Rule of Life (a personal effort for growth)
    • Reading the Word of God
  • This is the heart of the Team meeting: learning to grow together in faith as couples.
4. Study / Formation Topic (45–60 mins)
  • In the piloting stage, this section uses a structured manual prepared by Teams of Our Lady.
  • Topics cover:
    • The origins and spirit of the movement.
    • The vocation of marriage as a sacrament.
    • Living faith as a couple and as a family.
    • The purpose of the endeavours.
    • How Teams meetings function.
  • Couples discuss, share experiences, and gradually build understanding.
5. News & Administrative Points (10–15 mins)
  • Updates from the wider movement.
  • Planning who will host and lead the next meeting.
6. Closing Prayer (5–10 mins)
  • Often concludes with a prayer to Our Lady or a decade of the Rosary.
  • Couples leave with a renewed sense of mission and encouragement.
