Poetry – The Way

The Way

The path is narrow and the journey long,
Faith in God unswerving,
Faith in His creation (my neighbour),
A command to love and serving.
This is not my path,
Not of my devising,
This cannot be my path,
For more than me comprising.
Here there and further on,
There are so many more,
Others here just like me,
Together we will soar.
Waymarks and messengers,
Each play their part,
Guiding and teaching,
A way to the heart.
When the path can’t be seen,
Look ahead not below.
For a light or a sound,
Will always bestow.
Permit the path to see you,
And of its way do live.
See the you in others,
And then bless and forgive.
We are all born of the Spirit,
The image and likeness of God,
Jesus says Come follow me,
The way the truth and the life.
